CAN Therapy is a platform to encourage people to explore their mental wellbeing.
It is a double entandre as...
1. It is an acronym
Consider
Awareness
Naturally
2. Poses a question on the effectiveness of therapy.
CAN Therapy started with the acknowledgement that there is a lack of self awareness in the Black, Asian and ethnic minority (BAME) community in the UK.
After noticing the statistics that show (in the UK) Black Men and Women to have a higher prevalence of Psychosis, and have the lowest treatment rate, it became our mission to prevent or reduce admissions by creating a platform for all to access and acknowledge our emotions habitually.
This platform involves practicing self awareness, questioning the effects of therapies, psychoeducation and more to encourage the importance of our mental wellbeing.
